Beloved Kinney,
This past Sunday we reflected on the difference between being a child of covenant grace and being a child of common grace. If you remember, I described common grace as “any good we experience from God in this life beyond immediate judgment for sin but short of salvation.” Non-Christians, unbelievers, those who don’t know God in a redemptive way… only experience common grace. But we who are in union with Christ through faith experience covenant grace.
Listen to a few ways the Bible describes your identity as a child of covenant grace. Because God has loved you with a unique, covenant love, you are…
I hope that encourages you. Do you know yourself in this way? Find comfort in your identity as a child of covenant grace!
Love,
Pastor Josh
This past Sunday we reflected on the difference between being a child of covenant grace and being a child of common grace. If you remember, I described common grace as “any good we experience from God in this life beyond immediate judgment for sin but short of salvation.” Non-Christians, unbelievers, those who don’t know God in a redemptive way… only experience common grace. But we who are in union with Christ through faith experience covenant grace.
Listen to a few ways the Bible describes your identity as a child of covenant grace. Because God has loved you with a unique, covenant love, you are…
- An heir of the world (Rom. 4:13)
- Protected from the schemes of the enemy (Eph. 6:13)
- Empowered by God (1 Cor. 1:18)
- Being transformed into Christ’s likeness (2 Cor. 3:18)
- Fully equipped with everything you need to live a godly life (1 Pet. 1:3)
- Liberated from sin’s enslaving hold (Rom. 6:14)
- Covered in Christ’s righteousness (Rom. 4:5)
- A prized inheritance of God himself (Eph. 1:18)
- Awaiting a glorious inherence too beautiful for words (2 Cor. 4:17-18)
I hope that encourages you. Do you know yourself in this way? Find comfort in your identity as a child of covenant grace!
Love,
Pastor Josh
